Foreign funds are needed more. There is no doubt.

But, there is greater need to attract more Indian Funds.

And, this will not happen until, our mutual funds are better governed - to give much higher NET RETURNS to Indian investors by making more intelligent, more timely investments and cut down slightly on their own and their agents` returns.

Greater importance must be given to ensuring the Investors` returns.

Individual investors should be allowed not just foreign institutions. .. only then money starts moving in. Also rupee shd be made fully convertible.

Rules are for Aam Admi. For others they are adjustable.

the effect of fii is ok.. but hot money is from hedfe funds.. they have to be tackled....

You have hit the nail.Performance of mutualfunds have not been worthy of investor s trust and expectations. If mf`s can not outperform the market there is nothing in them for investors.On the other hand they are collecting their charges ir- respectivo of loss/underperformance.When fii`s can invest directly in shares
why should they trust underachievers.

I do not find any reason for FII to be interested in mutual funds as they are the fore runners in equity. So why they will give steering in others hand once they can run the market while sitting on drivers seat.Mahander Singh

Mutual funds are safe options to invest. I am sure many FIIs will be interested in this. This will pour huge inflows of money to Indian markets.
