I fully endorsed with your view. But I have a doubt whether this will be a dark horse if they get 2 G spectrum which is pending from Jan. 8 2008. 3 G winners need 2 G spectrum. HFCL is the next first in the que to get telecom license and spectrum. So the scenario is perfect for a leap
CAN drag things to a certain point. After that things will reveal automatically. In HFCL case just wait till Jan. Spectrum allocation has to come out (3 G & one left in 2 G|) So wait till Jan. 31st. Those who want to be front runner in 3 G, they have to get it first move fast. Let us see where the power & money is concentrated. 2 months is maximum time period in HFCL`s case.
You r on this board for many years and you know Nahata & Y.L Agarwal, how smart they are to make use of venues to make money. How Datacom received license?. What was Nahatas networth? when datacom applied for licence. The same story can repeat here as well in a different situation with HFCL
Besides the net-worth issue, if TRAI recommends auction the way out for 2G, then HFCL does not stand a chance, unless the High Court order(given more than 6 months back favoring HFCL)supercedes the the Auction process and gives priority to 1st in que as a special case for HFCL.
As every one knows there is no auction on 2 G in December/Jan. The tender is only for 3 G. If any foreign company win 3G tender, they automatically get 2G
In case of Datacom, videocon`s stake in it satisfied the net worth criterion...Unless some biggy (like AA/interested party) infuses capital thru equity dilution I dont see its net worth going up...
