To rebuild Indian Oil Corporation Ltd’s (IOC) depot in Jaipur, which was destroyed by fire, over Rs 160 crore is needed.
In a suo motu statement made in Parliament on the incident of fire at POL depot of IOC at Sanganer, Jaipur, the Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Mr Murli Deora, on Friday said that “the replacement cost of buildings and machinery is estimated to be over Rs 160 crore.”
It is estimated that petroleum products worth approximately Rs 146 crore were lost. The terminal was commissioned in 1995 and had 11 storage tanks for motor spirit, high speed diesel and superior kerosene Oil.
“All 11 tanks in the depot have been completely destroyed. The product is insured and the timeframe for rebuilding the infrastructure at the terminal would be about two years,” the Minister said.
