zindagi bhar nahin bhoolegi wo barsaat ki raat
ek anjaan haseenaa se mulaakaat ki raat
zindagi bhar nahin bhoolegi …

haay wo reshmi zulfon se barastaa paani
haay wo reshmi zulfon se barastaa paani
phool se gaalon pe rukne ko tarastaa paani
dil mein toofaan uthaate huye
dil mein toofaan uthaate huye jazbaat ki raat
zindagi bhar nahin bhoolegi …

dar ke bijli se achaanak wo lipatnaa uskaa
aur phir sharm se balkhaake simatnaa uskaa
kabhi dekhi na suni aisi ho
kabhi dekhi na suni aisi tilismaat ki raat
zindagi bhar nahin bhoolegi …

surkh aanchal ko dabaakar jo nichodaa usne
surkh aanchal ko dabaakar jo nichodaa usne
dil pe jaltaa huaa ek teer saa chhodaa usne
aag paani mein lagaate huye
aag paani mein lagaate huye haalaat ki raat
zindagi bhar nahin bhoolegi …

mere naghmon mein jo basti hai wo tasveer thi wo
naujawaani ke haseen khwaab ki taabir thi wo
aasmanon se utar aayi ho
aasmanon se utar aayi thi jo raat ki raat
zindagi bhar nahin bhoolegi wo barsaat ki raat
zindagi bhar nahin bhoolegi …

okay i wanted to share some tidbits i heard on this program today.

Kishore Kumar married four times.... the first one was a benagli woman, i dont know what happened to that marriage... but he married Madhubala the second time..... by then Madhubala was seriously sick... did you know she had a hole in her heart and no cardiac surgery was available those days... she lived from 1933 to 1969...(older to my mother).... what a sad fate awaited this beautiful woman isnt it? She used to vomit blood on the sets... she was one among 11 children, daugther of a pathan who worked for Imperial Tobacco Company...... arent most pathans Punjabis? That famous pathan suit which was so much in vogue during our college days. LOL... out of 10 siblings she lost 6 siblings due to the pak-india split???.. how sad... they returned to India coz Peshawar was cruel to them.... then madhubala and her dad frequented the Mumbai film studies and Devika Rani noticed her fatak uncommon looks and asked her to change her name to Madhubala... she died being in love with Dilip Kumar whom she couldnt marry coz the producer of a film she was in sued her along with Dilip and since Dilip dint apologize to her dad she split with him :( lol... imagine bringing dad, mom, sister etc into the picture for love. LOL....when my MIL on that rare occasion would cihde me for anything my hubby used to ask her to move on and stop interfering in my life... ha ha.. so why these folks lived tragic lives on account of mom dad etc... they shoould have gone ahead isnt it?? However that was the story of madhubala.. since she split with Dilip she married Kishore Kumar.... and Kishore`s own story next... interesting...

After Madhubala`s death Kishore Kumar married Yogita Bali but Yogita Bali couldnt bear him even for 2 years she split with him and married Mitthun Chakravorthy. Kishore stopped singing for Mithun after he snatched his wife. :) :) :P

Now as i watched Madhubala on this program today i wondered how such a bubbly woman could have such a serious disorder... how very sad... very very very sad...

Did you know Hollywood considered her the most beautiful woman in the world and ran a whole page article in their magazine THEATER ARTS

Quote
In their August 1952 issue, Madhubala was featured in an extensive article with a full page photo. The piece was entitled: The Biggest Star in the World (And She`s Not in Beverly Hills). It presented the actress as a mysterious and ethereal woman of mythical beauty with a legion of fans.

During this period, on a trip to Mumbai and its film studios, the American filmmaker Frank Capra was pampered and hosted by the elite of the Hindi movie industry. However the one star he really wanted to meet was conspicuous by her absence, Madhubala. A meeting to discuss an opening for Madhubala in Hollywood was proposed by Capra. Madhubala`s father declined and put an emphatic end to her potential Hollywood film career.

tilismaat is jadoo or jadoo related!
nichodaa is wringing a wet cloth.
Therefore surkh aanchal should mean `wet cloth` or `wet aanchal`

Peshawar The Asian CasaBlanca. haaaaaaaaaaaa

now how many terrotires that originally belonged to the Hindus have been snatched and yet the blue lord dint arrive? How many territores snatched by Pakistan, sovient union, China... orginally the entire world was Bharat Varsha....

Peshāwar Urdu: پشاور; was founded by the Kushan king Kanishka in the 2nd century AD. The name "Peshawar" derives from Sanskrit Purushapura (meaning "city of men") and is known as Pekhawar or Peshawar in Pashto and Pishor in Hindko. The area which originally belongs the eastern Iranian tribes of Scythian origin later became part of the Persian empire. It gave its name to the Peshwari naan bread, one of the diverse genres of naan common in the curry houses of Britain. Briefly it also witnessed some Greek influence after which it saw the Arab conquest and rise of Islam. It then became one of the centers of Afghan empire. Today it is one of the prime cities of Pakistan west of the river Indus.

In ancient times, a major settlement called Purushpur was established by Kanishka, the king of the Central Asian Kushans, in the general area of modern Peshawar. Purushpur emerged as a major center of Buddhist learning until the 10th century, and was the capital of the ancient Indo-Greek kingdom of Gandhara. During that time, the Kanishka stupa on the outskirts of Peshawar, was the tallest building in the world - rising to almost 700 feet.[3]

The current city was established during the Mughal period in the 16th century by Akbar during which it received the name Peshawar. During much of its history, the city was one of the main trading centres on the ancient Silk Road and was a major crossroads for various cultures between South Asia, Central Asia and the Middle East.

Located on the edge of the Khyber Pass near the Afghan border, Peshawar is the commercial, economic, political and cultural capital of the Pashtuns in Pakistan. Following the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, it became "a Asian Casablanca, awash in spies, journalists, aid workers and refugees"
