It is great to celebrate but...the discount on SRF Poly is still 73%.....still lot of upside left in it....I would be happier to see the discount narrowing to a more realistic level of 25%....hence it is still a BUY by my book.....
Agree with you. In fact most of the other investment companies are available at discount of 25% to 40%. 75% discount is too steep. Let us hope this discount narrows fast.
CB, I think there are too many un-believers in the company alongwith many who have bought shares for small trading gains. These people will always keep offering at small jumps/minor gains.
Once the bulk of retail investors give way to believers, people who think of the value of the share as 800 or 1000 or even say 1500, there would be few sellers, and the price would move up faster.
With SRF declaring Dividend of Rs.7 per share, I feel the discount should narrow down to atleast 50% soon. Even at 50% discount, the scrip should quote at Rs.500/- as SRF is expected to cross Rs.250/- comfortably. The Dividend income is growing bigger. Hence, SRF poly EPS also should grow substantially.Cheers!
C.B., If the last buyback of SRF had taken place, ( which I feel is now almost forgotten as the share price has moved far ahead of the upper cap of 160/- ), SRF Poly would have had a slightly higher than 50% stake in SRF, and they would have had to mandatorily report SRF results along with their own as consolidated results. However, this SRF buyback now virtually being a non starter, The EPS of SRF Poly will now be limited by the dividend income it receives.
Let me add to ur last sentence:
The EPS of SRF Poly will now be limited by the dividend income it receives in addition to the share of profit from SRF`s operations in the ratio of its holding in the Associate, SRF. The consolidated EPS for 08-09 is around Rs. 107 which include share of profit.
The interim dividend SRF Poly receives, can be used to clear all the old dues, and also pay an interim dividend to the SRF Poly shareholders. Let`s hope that it gets done soon.
