co has withdrawn albupax breast cancer drug from market and report in economic times says criminal action may be filed by authorities.if this negative news has affect then stock may fall down heavily. may take guidance from your consultants.let us see what happens on tuesday.
sir the company have come up with defending satement. the competetion in pricing of generic medicine which is made available at rs 5000 less the rival companies making bad propaganda. They are doing extensive tests on the drug recalled so we will wait and see how people react to it.it is all due to competetion...
i do not own the stock.best thing is to wait and see price where there is very little move on both sides and that is fair value.keep a watch as only price fall creates value. personal assesment is 110 not bad entry.
it seems got good support at current level
let the dust settle down regarding the drug side effect scam. if futher bad news comes it will again go down..play safe
i think that now it is time to exit as chances for a flight upwards are remote as no good news is coming. if crimnal case is lodged it may not reach even165 leave thinking of 215.so no chances for an upmove rightnow
Immediately after the newspaper article was published in ET, Natco gave explanation on Stock Exchanges alleging that, news is engineered by its rivals. I was analysing earlier article which is reproduced here under for Boarders` peusal. The article mentions tie up with Dr.Reddys. If Dr.reddys has tied up it speaks volumes about Natco`s capability and now I tend to agree with Natco`s version in this matter. Hence I have decided to hold and add once controversy is over.
Business Line article about the recall of drug in July-09 reproduced as it is:
"Hyderabad, July 18 Natco Pharma Ltd has recalled its breast cancer drug Albupax following an order from the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI), which said that the drug might cause damage to liver.
The Hyderabad-based company has stopped the production, distribution and marketing of the drug and is in the process of recalling stocks, a company spokesperson told Business Line.
“The product has passed all quality tests. However, on DCGI’s instructions, we have stopped marketing the product in the interim.
“We are taking immediate steps to investigate the issue,” he said.
Testing procedures
The testing procedures for the drug should also be looked into as Albupax was nanotechnology-based products.
“The testing procedures for this drug are quite complex,” he added.
Natco is currently engaged in a legal dispute on patent of Albupax with its original innovator, American Biosciences and is awaiting judgment.
It had launched the product in the domestic market in September 2008, at Rs 11,000 a tablet and recently tied up with Dr Reddy’s Laboratories for marketing the drug in the US.
The recall would not impact the company’s revenue as they were insignificant, he said.
He added that, “We just have 15 patients in the country who are using the drug.”"
