Earnings recoed of Ashok Leyland suggests that it may be heading for a bankruptcy soon. This may be one of the reasons we have seen s EUPHORIC rise in its shares recently so that insiders can get away at a decent price...

When a company like GM can go bankrupt, Ashok Leyland is just peanuts. It is the results that are speaking. Dont be emotionally attached, be financially shrewd...

GM is bankrupt because of it policies. Mainly the reasons were the tie ups with trade unions, health benifits to be provided to it`s employees, improper auditing and planning, unavailability of liquid cash...You know why Ford is not bankrupt because it has availability of liquid cash it has because it sold its land to some other companies in year 2006,2007 expecting recession in 2008. So it got good returns because there are no traces of recession then and land price is high. GM tried to sell some of its land properties in mid 2008 but by then the land prices has taken a dip and so it did not get enough cash. Ford has not even taken one bail out upto now unlike GM and Chrysler.

In my view

1. Indian markets financial experts are better in evaluations and predictions than many of US experts
2. This company has abundant liquid cash available.
3. A company which has plans to file for bankruptcy will not announce a fair dividend like this comany did.
4. Has a good balance sheet unlike GM where it`s balance sheet is not at all attractive in the years 2007, 2008 before it filed for bankruptcy....( take various factors like debt, dividend, liquid cash....)

So Ashok Leyland is a stock evaluated at a fair price and you need not worry that it goes for a bankrupcy...

I think you need to learn to spell the word right first! And yes, it`s Chapter 13 for bankruptcy in the US...

Hi StreetKing,
Are you familiar with any Chinese proverbs? Have you ever heard "If your strength is small, don`t carry heavy burdens. If your words are worthless, don`t give advice". I strongly believe that this proverb by all means is a perfect match to you. Give advice only when I ask for it.I have just said about my opinion in my previous mail about the stock but haven`t asked you to hold it, buy it or sell it. I am sorry from my side if my message to you like that.
Thanks,
Vamsi.

Hi Vamsikgummadi,
I am not familiar with the chinese proverb and i am not carrying any heavy burdens. And the messageboard being open to all, i also voice my opinions just like you do. Opinions may differ from person to person. If one does not agree to someone else`s opinion, he/she is free to voice his/her own and optionally enter into a healthy debate. I do my own analysis on stocks based on charts and earnings and news, and stay away from tips. I am also sorry if i have hurt your feelings in any of my posts. Regards.
