how come a person having income above 12 lacs get more benefit of 28326, when slab has just changed from 1.5 lacs to 1.6 lacs

That 12-lakh person was also paying a surcharge of 10% of tax. This surcharge has now been removed.

Those below ten lakhs income did not pay any surcharge and hence their gain is limited to a little over one thousnad.

The exemption is hogwash. Rs 1030 per year translates into a little over rs 86 per month in the hands of the tax payer. Wonder how it is going to neutralise the cost of Rs 75 per KG of tuar dal or the increase of rs 4 per litr of petrol. Basically a people unfriendly budget. How it is going to increase spending is a big doubt. Pranab Mukherjee has this nasty habit of being middle class unfriendly and he has proved it.

previously my conveyance reimbursement was Rs 6000/- should it has to change as 1200/- just because of FBT abolished.
