Canara Bank has informed the Exchange with reference to Tier I Bonds for an issue amount of Rs. 150 crores with unspecified green shoe option as follows: "We have collected total issue amount of Rs.240.30 crores".
Let us hope that this increase in capital (Tier-I) is (a) NOT for meeting increase in NPA provisioning and (b) NOT for meeting increase in Establishment Expenditure by way of increase in wages/salaries etc.
