Some analysts and media spread the rumor of stake sale by Piramal to GSK Pharma deliberately so that the stock price comes down when rumor does not come true and could be accumulated at lower price. Later Piramal denied it though media release also on the same day to avoid any speculation.

It seems that the persons got success in their motive.

Piramal group has been among the best in corporate governance. I have been trading in this stock for last 6 years. It may reach 219 in short term. Stop loss - 156

Rumours and vested interest are triggers for trading and these factors are very well played by operators and traders. This has become part of system and we have to live with it.

Dear Alok

It is a known fact though we have to live with it.

In fact traderjiDOTcom have stipulated very clearly in their rules and disclaimers which i quote;

Q
Be aware of possible speculative comments (also known as "ramping") aimed at manipulating other investors. Posters may post overly-optimistic or pessimistic comments on particular stocks, in an attempt to influence other investors. Before making any financial or investment decisions, you should always consult your advisor(s) or other relevant professional experts.

You are right. I understand it. But the problem is that as an investor I invest in a good stock after proper research and analysis. And the speculators bring it down by spreading rumors. What should I do. Should I leave the market? Or I am at the mercy of speculators and rumor mongers.

Instead of doing research work about a company, if an investor can do research on a speculator, he can make quick money??

not at all alok..
nobody is to run anywhere... besides these are not rumours... this is just tactics to bring down prices and then give a cause for it so that it looks all above board and one can blame a bear cartel... its just that everything has to go to lows... at different times of course... just trade with very keen observation...
AND BEFORE I FORGET... KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK

This is a market of insider trading. The operator`s make a weak stock strong and a strong stock weak. The stock market has become a place of gambling den and bigger the player, bigger are his margin and vice versa. We have seen classical example of satyam as how one man have destroyed the wealth of small investors.Satyam a blue chip company is on the verge of collapse and now you see the fate of investors holding position prescam before 7.1.2009. One thing is clear if you can understand the game of operator then you must have ability to read the market in between the lines which I think small investors is not in position to do resuting loss after losses. The only solution is that you become as wise as operator else no one can help you.

Let us understand the point in the case of Reliance industries.

If an investor invest in RIL stock for making profit. Everything goes well for some time. Then suddenly one day, some people spread negative rumors regarding RIL for their vested interest and RIL tanks below its 5 years low in few days.

What is the mistake of the investor - investing in a good scrip after doing proper research or not crying foul in this event.

What to say Alok.. see what these speculators r doing. last week sebi banned Shanker sharma, an all time bear from dealing with shares.. I dnno y CNBC still giving importance to his views.. tdy also he said market `ll go to 7200 and all.. His last interview was also useless.. in that he said he dnt know anythng abt wht happening with satyam, no future for it.. but immediatly he said he also bought Satyam shares on personal interest..?? what a contradiction.. every is playing for their benefit only.. but in some places we are at the mercy of speculators.. see the build up in dlf, futures @ 15 point discount.. some bear is playing..

I am concerned with a lot of group A stocks which have been beaten down heavily without any big reason just to make money.

The regulators should take cognizance suo motto of irrational price movement in case of A group stocks at least.

What are your views?
