What is happening in Infosys after the commencement of new Murthy era is obvious. Today`s senior executives are grown up lot of what they were when Mr. Murthy was at the helm of affairs during his earlier tenure. So the issues relating to personality clash are an obvious result. If I may put it that way, the classic OLD Vs NEW ( I am refraining from calling it GENERATION GAP) scenario is playing. But one thing is sure . It is sure going to be a make or break situation for both Mr. Murthy and Infosys. And let us keep our fingers crossed to see the final outcome. I personally wish a good luck to both.
ECONOMICTIMES.COM Given that the US economy is recovering, the US has nothing to lose, say analysts. As far as emerging markets are concerned, they are most susceptible. So companies having exposure in US like IT , some Pharma have no issues and are lucky, others in gods hands
u r right. Also the brand value that Infy used to command in the past is no more the same.
Having said that NRN has proven himself many a times in the past (be is his initial days or dotcom bust etc..) and has time and again proven the fact that Infy was a bellwether.
Topline management has been utterly inefficient when it comes to mobilizing the resources and hence they couldn`t pitch in to the right clients and hence they lost some of their existing customers and also couldnt add upt the new customer as much as they would have liked to.
The basic reason as why Infy is lagging behind its peers is coz it has started focussing a lot on consulting, platform and high margin business and hence couldnt really concentrate much on ADM.
Now Murthy has repeatedly said that ADM is the bread n butter and he would reinvent this. However we shouldn`t expect anytihng significant in the coming 2-3 quarters but I am sure traction must have been built up already and good days are there in the offing.
We will have to wait to see if NRN magin still works..
It will have impact. But NRN has to create his own ecosystem again for him to show results. It is long way for NRN to create such ecosystem. Industry has moved quite a lot in the last 5 yrs. He enjoyed the boom time during his tenure. He left Infy when recession started. Infy never built future leadership like TCS or CTS. Founders should have hired a CEO in 2008 itself. Instead of dynasty rule, founders ruled the company irrespective of their capabilities. So fundamentally, there is an issue in the process of leadership succession in the company right from the beginning. NRN and Nandan were very capable and also Industry boom helped them a lot for their success. They have left the company suddenly without judging the leadership capabilities in the organization. Hope NRN fixes this appropriately.
