No, i do not think so. Coz, FM himself is not sure that it is for women or mostly for women. And moreover, basically, gender bias is not there in disbursement of loans. It is a congress party agenda purely for elections. It may be a reality in near future, but 1000 crore mein kay ata hein. He should basically focus on merger of banks.

i don`t c ny discrimination with women in banks.... but instead on roads r in pubs.... 1st provide proper security for women.... then u can automatically see a women opening a bank for another, provided u support it....

It is only fooling people by a foolish idea which was in use way back 1960 by syndicate bank in south india. every p.s.u. bank can open a all women bank any where in india. why separate p.s.u.

I think that with this facility women can independently stand by their own by taking loans. Specially in villages, women doesn`t prefer to go to cities for opening the accounts, it will be very comfortable for them to operate their account.

It is a meaningless exercise. A directive from RBI to PSU banks asking them to ensure that at least 20% of their branches be all women branches would have been enough. Enough traffic would have shifted to those branches and the private sector banks would be forced to follow suit.
