Very well said my dear. I am actually surprised that our leaders are just not bothered about the country and the problems we as citizens(middle class and below) have due to plethora of taxes and high prices.
We need to teach these leaders a lesson if they do not take our problems in to consideration.
For taxing agriculture income, constitutional ammendment is required, and will any politician in parliament be honest enough to move a bill to say tax agricuture income above Rs. 5-10 lacs, even at say 5%.
Even if such a bill is moved privately, or under pressure, it will have the same fate as that of LOKPAL BILL, and the reasons are obvious.
However, states are free to tax agriculture income, par kyaa woh bhi apne pair pe kulaadi marenge, kyoki, woh ek aassaan raasta hai, apni black money ko white karne kaa.
If one goes through the data of tax payers it can be clearly seen that they are mostly concentrated in urban areas, even rich farmers are exempt IT and in fact they are the one`s who corner maximum subsidies meant for the small and marginal farmers.
Taxpayers money(both from direct and indirect taxes) is used to pay Govt servants, defence, Govt sponsored social schemes and for development of infra and not for paying salaries to people working in cities for the private companies.
Most sops are doled out for the rural masses but they never benefit the intended people, they are instead cornered by the politicians and their cronies which is why they are where they are even after 65 years of independence.
why forget that sallry class is being paid by taxes indirectly paid by rural mass. if they are not helped, salary class caanot continue with adventages.
will that "super rich tax" reach those super rich? it will force them even to hide their total wealth who are currently paying something in the name of income tax.
