This govt will go down under the overburden of 6th Pay commission , where salaries and pension and thereafter DA are taking away big chunk of taxes and othe r revenues. On subsidies govt is ready to take steps what about this dianasur of 6th pay commission of 2009. Till that is rectified, nothing will change about fiscal deficiet. If one seriously look, it was not subsidy but burden of salaries and pension which is increasing fiscal deficiet. .

If they are really interested in bringing down their fiscal deficit, let them cut down drastically their unplanned expenditure, luxurious foireign travels of Ministers etc., cut-down drastically their Rs.8000/- per plate lunch/dinner expenses, and bring full transparency and honesty in all their expenses including imports and exports etc.
