An old adage that a person must spend according to his income! It only proves that they are robbing the "motherland" to pay more unwanted brainless subsidies to buy their votes! On the contrary they are encouraging "rabbit breeding" tendencies of the poorest section? And then they will need more funds to give more subsidies and it will only halt when country will become totally bankrupt?

All these committes are set up to fulfill politicians desires and these committes always give thier views in line with politicians.

There is always politics involved ,if lands banks are sold what we will give to our future generations because if govt lands are sold it will again go in hands of private Industrialists who already hold 90% of india`s wealth.

We are rapidly heading towards bankruptcy.
I have absolutely no doubt.

Now, this excess land will be `purchased` (read grabbed) by those in power or close to power at market price (read throw away) and resale to the Government at a `reasonable` (read exorbitant) price for projects like railways, dams etc.

Selling land to builder sharks is like selling family silver to the jeweller. Instead, the government must set its own fiscal house in order first, cut wasteful expenditure and cut corruption etc. Selling land is just the easy way out.

Government should go in for more long term sources - and not a one time source - like selling of Land.

Selling its Land is any way good - if such Government land is nor required by it in say, 10-15 years. At least, such land will be productively used by private entrepreneurs - instead of lying unproductive an vacant.

No, because finally fund raised by selling govt. land will go to govt. treasury and than it will be used by some politician for some project which will never get completed till the fund gets finished.

not only sale govt land but sale govt itself, so suggest this Kelkar to govt.If fund is required bring honesty scheme to convert black money to white without tax and knowing name. Also to raise fund s it will be a best option to suggest that every ministry should be aucioned and who pay more be given to him if fund raising is issue....
