If they wants make profit then it should be privvatized...They have to manage properly with minimum emplyees with better facilities..Maintain the timings and so on...See how it will make profit...As a frequent flyer I have completly stopped to fly by Air India...I have swirch over Jet Airways with superb service and on time arrival and departure....Price may be little high but it is worth....Last 10 years I have not faced any problems than one or two time weather problem...

i do agree with the view expressed by Mr. P. Bharat. Air India has been making losses for a long & the govt pampers it like a child. Also the view expressed about Railways is equally laudable.

Privatisation is a must for all govt companies since it brings the sense of belongingness. When one loses its money, it hurts but when other`s money is lost it doesnt hurt & the same is the case of public sector companies. Let it be fully or partly privatised to see how money is used.

First fire all the employees of AI and rehire on the merit/ need basis only, cut all of the excess baggage, it will start making profits automatically.

Whenever there is no coordination between the management and the staff there will be lot of loss only. Take Maruti case for example. The best solution to this is only to privatise fully and hand over to somebody who can manage it/ Partly privatisation is not going to help. The management must be frank share their profits with its employees and briefing staff frequently about the position will help to avoid clashes.
