Yes. I think subsidies is a waste. Markets should be open for competition which improves product delivery, brings in new technology and benefits all including the poor. More jobs are created. For example in Fertilizers, if subsidies are removed there will be transparent delivery mechanism instead of the controlled allotment system which leads to corruption and price escalations.

Yes, Indians are not beggars to depend on subsidies and so that India should not depend on international aid but be able to give aid to other poor countries.

IT IS THE DUTY OF THE GOVT TO TAKE CARE OF ALL ITS CHILDREN. INSTEAD WITHDRAWING SUBSIDIES CONCENTRATE ON CORRUPTION THAT MONEY BEING DIVERTED FROM ACTUAL DEVELOPMENT TO INDIVIDUAL POCKETS.
