I think service tax is going to be a major source of revenue for the Government . To those of you who may not know, service tax is the major source of revenue in all Developed countries. There is a qualitative change in the GDP component as we grow. In the 50s , Agriculture and industry contributed the bulk. Now more than half of the GDP is accounted for by the services sector. It would be facile to assume that the Government can survive without creating revenue from the Sector. What are the other options. Increasing excise and customs would have a more cascading effect on the prices. Service tax is also a way of consumption tax and is more egalitarian than excise and sales tax. Please understand these moves in a broader context. Many of us tend to believe that subsidies are a mjor burden. It should be correctly targeted is one thing but this also ensures that those sections who are not directed benefited is also included in our growth process. So be more understnding and benign. Particularly when messages emanating from long term boarders who closely follow economic developments, it should be educative for others and we should not react emotionally. Those who talk about service tax should start reading the Raja Chelliah committee report to start with which is easily available on the neet

People who earn vary small amount by services are also covered in service Tax Net.. Chidambaram cheated India by saying that he will collect only Few CRORERS . Opposition did not asked him that why you are that much eager for a small amount. If you are not earning which qualify you to pay Income Tax, still you need to follow all formalities of Service Tax....

Why they refuse subsidy on cooking gas bottle ?? Why they do not remove subsidy of Canteen of Parliament ? Where you Get Food in few paisa ??
(3) Would you Trust Mulayam ?? Does he care foe people ?? Today evening he will say I will Oppose FDI in Retail and next Morning will support ? What is the reason ??

Dear sir, service tax is so immoral that they have brought even educational institutes and non academic courses under the ambit of service tax. So many helpless ppl send their grown up kids to professional courses like aviation,IT etc after taking big loans from banks. Instead of subsiding such professional education these sha mless and chors come to collect service tax from the hard earned money of ppl.govt is the biggest bania of our country,they are worst than british rulers. You see very shortly we are going to withness another mega scam of this country,the biggest one i.e, Toll Tax scam.the roads made by sher shah suri hundreds of year back are repired by these guys and they would charge 100 rs per car for 100 km.you go to a decent state like gujrat, a specially build causeway with full development including land acquisition starting from scratch, u can go 100 km in 50 rs.all mandatory roads in the country have been converted into toll ways by doing some minor decorations and aam admi is being looted by the govt.what kind of democracy we have,protector govt becoming predator and the country full of scavangers like politicians,babus doing ghooskhori khulleaam and u cant do a s hit about it. These adhocist babus and gove officials are generally low IQ guys selected through a process which checks them for only their memory and ability to work hard and no check of intellectual or any sort of analytical abilities They mostly come from a state where everybody is lootoing others and have the same mind set in running the govt as well.some guys with better background are also rendered helpless against the force of others and the result can be seen.its hightime we wake up and educate ourselves to understand the atrocities of Govt and work for our freedom from being under such sick mindsets of lootoing people and filling their own pockets.
