He is perfect choice for Chairmen post and he has experience of doing that for India even after retirement and has balanced view,
amaranth is not fit to be selector in first place leave alone chairmen.

Of all available ex-cricketers, Sandeep Patil is perhaps the only one who was once an internationally sought after coach. He also coached MP`s Ranji Team before the Kenyans roped him as their coach about a decade ago. This makes him a keen reader of an individual cricketer`s strengths and weeknesses. Other like Shashtri and Amarnath are also good but Sandeep Patil is the better choice since he has the ability to relate to a player on a one-to-one basis. This allows him to be privy to their private thoughts. A selector should not only be a professional but an understanding individual as well with the faculty of coming upclose with the player on and off the field. Sandeep Patil has demonstrated the abundance of these qualities when he had coaching assignments. His experience makes him not just a better reader of the individual`s game but also take fair decisions when called upon to do so. He deserves to be congratulated.

Two things are most striking. The new Chairman of the national selection committee`s beard and the remuneration. One is nasty and the other is a national waste.
