Even today there is a huge black marketing in LPG cylinders. Who is doing it? The distributors of the OIL Companies and not the general public. How they are doing? By cornering large connections at regular intervals and selling these connections to the individuals at higher prices and selling LPG cyclinders to the hotels, restaurents and for commercial uses. I have not come across any incidence of an individual consumer is doing black marketing. There is a proverb " Ghar ka chor ko Eswar be nahi pakad sakthe". Distributors are looting under the nose of OIL companies. Do you think OIL companies are not aware? Noway.

Yes, the government`s policy is flawed.Basically the black marketing is rather more, than subsidy by the retailers. Without capping this drain on exchequer, capping the subsidized cylinders provide more room for black marketing and windfall gain to retailers. The best method is to remove all taxes on gas and allow the consumer to take the benefits of competition.

yes cap on subsidised LPG cylinders will lead to tremendous black marketing as every house hold will need additional cylinders to run their kitchen
