The people of West Bengal will be the biggest loosers. Thousands of jobs for the state which is already in tatters. Unemployment is a big problem in the state and if the state government would have negotiated a better deal with the farmers, this situation may not have arisen.
The CPIM government may have thought that they will supress the agitation by power, they tried to, but that tok a bad turn with Mamta stategically in place to gain popularity. Though at todays situation, mamta may have gained huge popularity or shud I say negative popularity, but youth of West Bengal has lost such an opportunity which they may not get for next decade or so. Which company will go to WB if they get such a great treatment. A few hundred people has devastated the whole state and lost thousands of jobs.
I find only mamta to blame....these opportunist politicians suffer from huge myopia.
West Bengal earned a huge BAD NAME in India and outside.
I disagree i think Tata Motors will a big loser.. with the hasty decision... of pulling out the stocj will lose big time.. and investors will pay out of their pockets for the delay in rolling out the Nano... They should stay and negotiate a middle ground...
The West bengal governement don't know what they are losing out on... with this move they ahve proved themselves to be an industry un-friendly state.. they will lose out on lot of development projects like this.. they need to decide whether developement is more improtant or thier vote bank
Mr. Stockgun, I think you are not understanding the situation well.
Tatas may loose few crore rupees which they can very well recover over a year, but WB govt is loosing few hundreds of crores over the period. Ask how? They are loosing not only corporate taxes but individual taxes also since there is no employment now. And this is not only for Tata but if you have observed the development, Infosys and IBM has already moved out of WB with their expansion plans and there may be many more companies that will move out. I think WB govt is the looser, no doubt.
Bengal may get another industry and tatas may find another state.... but the poor indian people who got dreams in driving nano are disappointed for the delay.... and ofcourse investors of tata motors have been loosing heavily since one year.... how this scrip went to 1000,from there continueously faling and thus spoiling its holders wealth....
Thanks to Ratan tataji for arrangement of huge losses to his beleivers....
Tatas will only lose some fixed invesment, maybe a few crores which it can write off over many years..no big deal. But the real loser is West (Waste) Bengal.
Though I really feel for the people of West Bengal, I feel the commies really deserve it ...…purely for their double standards. What they inflict on other governments in all other states (thwarting development by inciting unions, conducting bandhs etc), they had to taste their own medicine in their bastion which unfortunately is going down the drain for the past 30 years……. Now no on will dare to set up anything in that state for the next 5 years atleast. Infact they are also responsible partly for the Bangladeshi terrorist scourge which we are facing today as they freely allowed refugees across the border just to turn them into vote banks…. Do people there not want an alternative?? … I always wonder
WB will be the big loser and it can not judge what would happen in coming year. The basic problem is not with Mamta or WB Govt, it is with the dirty polical games. How can you imagine politicians are playing with the future prospects of a country or a state? I will not say nothing to loose for TATA, of course they have invested something in Singur which can not be retrieved. Communists never understand the need of hour, that is their basic nature.
The WestBengal government has done as best as they can to hold Tata Motors.Opposition led by Trinamool Congress will be solely responsible if Tata exit from the state .Adamant politics and lack of vision of Mamata Bannerjee will definitely ruin the states and its people.Corporate conspiracy from rival cannot be ignored altogether for this deadlock.I feel our constitution/jurisdiction should come up with strict rules and law to culminate this type of antipeople and anti developmental politics and politician.Getting verdict from people is not enough for the politician.Election will come and opposition may lose or win but the real loser will be people of Bengal. But who cares?
Yes the Commies\\` deserve it. They were doing the same thing where they are not in power. Always playing the spoiled spot. Lot of examples in Kerala where they behaved in the similar way what Mamata is doing in WB. Now they taste how it feel. When somebody pays back in the same coin it irritates.
tatas will be the bigger loser ,will loose money and will not be able gain ground in calcutta,it will be a very great loss, calcutta is a big state with hugh population, and tatas will be discoureged in all respects, remember this commie goverment is not going to change in near future, this is pure business politics,as i had seen in Tv while diss about this topic,,some expert told that perticular establishment has an interest,, PHK,,
The Govt.of WB and Tata both will be the bigger loser. The situation is arising beacuse of the govt. and the tata officials ignored the inhabitant farmers setiments. The govt. and tatas should did full homework before taking possession of the land with the farmers and the opposition party.the future message is before going to take any step relating to project both the parties amicable sit front to front to finalise the matter of compensation or any thing otherwise indians head will down in the world.
Like it or not, Tatas have deep pockets and interests in many businesses. It\\`s going to pinch but not hurt too much. The WB govt may not lose much because every damn minister whether the commies or mamata\\`s croonies will get their money over and under the table. The real loser are the people of WB, already idling their time without many companies, it is only going to harm them more. With Satyam closed in WB (due to the meltdown), Infy and IBM thinking hard, others will follow very soon. The people will lose out, maybe it\\`s their fate of living in a state damned by politics of non-performance?
Blame it on Vaasthu by sheer location of the state? The North East is God\\`s abode, and an area which should never be occupied by humans as it will result in major conflict of interest with God. and South West is a position unhealthy for business and money! Is it really true then?
